  1. A cool quilt, pieced by Diane Myatt Wheeler and quilted by me. I was able to find a way to quilt the "boxed feathers" in one pass. I like how this one turned out.

  2. Can't wait to see Lorna's quilt at Paducah!!

  3. Check out this year's company Christmas "card".

  4. Day #5 of the FB Art challenge. Today, I'm sharing three of my painted quilts. All of the designs on these are painted on wholecloth using fabric paints and inks. The purple dragonfly and the bird feeding have a fabric border added. the Framed Flowers is an entire (37x47) wholecloth quilt that was white and has been painted entirely using a variety of paints and inks. These are so thrilling for me to do. I've a long way to go to perfect this technique, but these have been great fun to work o...

  5. Finally back to quilting. Dishwasher sprung a leak and I had to tear out kitchen floor, dry everything out which took 6 days, and then have new flooring, dishwaher, and disposal installed. Got a new backsplash out of the deal, too; but it put a serious crimp in my quilting time

  6. Hmmm. It said I looked 35 with the photo I used in my profile pic and 60 in one taken at the office! I guess I need to wear sunglasses all the time and quit working. :-)

  7. I got serious about my health last October when my A1C levels reached 9.5. Yes, 9.5. For those of you who do not know, that is extremely high blood glucose levels. I had a new doctor for that visit and some of the things he said resonated with me. I started keeping track of every single thing I put in my mouth via an app called MyFitnessPal. That helped me do two things - it showed exactly how many calories I was eating (a lot) and how much sugar content was included in those calories (a lot...

  8. I just took this gorgeous Freedom Rings quilt off the frame! Love how this turned out. This quilt is up for raffle by The Woman's Club in Assumption, IL. Contact Barbara Freeman if you want to purchase raffle tickets or let me know and I'll pass along the info as I find out. The winning ticket will be drawn later this spring or early summer. I'm going to buy several tickets because I'd like to keep this one!! It's 88"x 88" so it would make a nice size bed quilt or look stunning on a large wa...

  9. I want to thank everyone who has helped our parents over the last several days. The outpouring of support, friendship, and genuine concern has been overwhelming and so very very appreciated. We're working on getting them back to the old home place as as we can. Today was a good day - we found the cat that had been missing since the fire. Hallelujah!

  10. It's Day #2 of the FB art challenge. I skipped a couple of days as I wasn't home, so I'll pick up where I left off. On Day 1, I shared some sculptures and fabric painting I did in the 70s. Today, I'm sharing some photos of a few quilts I quilted several years ago on my domestic sewing machine before I got my longarm. I like these because they were the first quilts where I didn't do just straight line stitching and where I realized I loved the process of quilting more than piecing. The two a...

  11. It's Day 4 of the FB Art challenge. Today I'm sharing three of my quilts that hold a special place in my heart. Each of these have been displayed at Paducah. Each is my own design. I used trapunto in each design and Sunflower Stars was the first time I'd attempted that technique and it was the first quilt I entered at Paducah. I now teach the trapunto technique to others. The best lesson I've learned is to always strive to undertake something new or perfect a technique that you love.

  12. Its time for Day #1 of the FB art challenge thanks to Elizabeth Karnes! Each day for 5 days we are to post three photos of our artwork as well as nominate someone to join in the project if they so wish. I nominate LynnEl Springer to participate if you wish. Below are three photos of some items I made many many years ago - none are quilt related. The head sculpture and the vase were made in art class way back in 1973/74. I don't have any of my drawings or paintings from then, but do have a...

  17. Latest customer quilt off the frame. I want to keep this one. The pattern is Carolina Lily and it turned out lovely despite issues with fullness.

  18. Latest customer quilt off the frame. Love love love this one. Love the texture and the color. Puts me in a springtime mood.

  19. Latest quilt off the frame for Mary Madoni. Love her quilts.

  20. Lots of soup and auction items going on now until 7 at the Findlay Fire Protection District. Some really cool items here this year.

  21. Lovely quilt, pieced by Mary Madoni and quilted by me. Mary promptly picked this one up, so I didn't get much time with it after I took it off the frame. One of my favorites of hers. I don't know the name of the pattern, so I called it Window Panes.

  25. Ok, it's Day #3 of the FB art challenge. My how time flies! :-) Today, I'm sharing some of my computer generated art. These are renderings I created in a program called Autodesk 3ds Max. It is used by engineers and architects to create renderings (images) of their CAD drawings. You see a lot of this type of thing on home improvement shows. It's a graphics and animation program used to not only produce photorealistic renderings such as these; but also, to create special effects and animati...
