This is not a new post, just separating it out from some discussion and tweaking the information a bit for future reference.
Before I go any further I want to make it clear that the membership option I am detailing here is completely optional. Membership in MQResource as it is right now, with full access to all of the forums and live chat at NO CHARGE will continue. The Premier membership is an option that some of you may wish to consider in order to gain some additional benefits.
Premier Member Videos
Approximately twice a month we'll be posting short video clips about a wide range of machine quilting topics. Videos are in a larger format and quality than YouTube videos, and will primarily cover machine quilting topics, though Deb likes to throw other cool techniques in just to keep things exciting. Videos are posted on the 10th and the 25th (approximately). We currently have over 21 entries in our video library, covering topics from how to get started with tasks as simple as loading your quilt, to ways to embellish your quilt with paints.
Unlimited Gallery Usage
Currently, free membership offers you limited usage of the Gallery (you are limited to a total of 40MB of uploaded photos and a total of 3 albums). With the Premier membership, these limits are lifted and you are (theoretically) able to create an unlimited number of albums, so you can sort and arrange your photos however you choose, and there is also no limit to the number of photos you can upload.
You can use your MQResource Photo Gallery to showcase your machine quilting work. The Gallery at MQResource is easy to use and not cluttered with extra stuff on the screen you don't need or want.
Discounts on Future Classes
Premier members will be entitled to discounts on class fees, discounts to be determined on a class-by-class basis. When new classes are announced, a coupon code is posted in the Premier Members announcement forum.
Inclusion in a listing of longarm quilters for hire
In a further effort to truly make this site an all-inclusive resource for machine quilters, we will be starting a list of longarm quilters that are accepting work from customers. I have not worked out all of the details yet, but this will be pretty simple, each listing will include your business name, relevant contact information and a link to your website. This listing will be on the MQR home page (http://www.mqresource.com/home) a spot that is accessible by the public, and does not require logging into the forum.
Plus
Other benefits to be thought of at a future date!!
Why would you choose to pay for a membership at MQResource?
I am committed to keeping basic membership in MQResource free of charge. Anyone who chooses to sign up for the forums will be granted full access to read and post in the forums, just as they can today.
If I'm not mistaken, though, there are any number of you at MQResource who receive a lot of value from your membership. The Design Help Forum and Final Product Forum are so full of ideas, photos, and brainstorming it's mind-boggling.
Sure, there are photo sharing sites that are dedicated solely to photo-sharing, and in some ways, the Gallery here at MQR can never duplicate what those sites can do -- but the best of those sites are NOT free, to get the really good stuff you have to pay. Some of them have great service, some of them...not so much. In addition, I find that several of those sites are terribly cluttered with other "stuff" on the page that distracts from the photo-viewing, not adding to it.
I think that building a gallery that is almost solely machine quilted quilts further extends the vision of MQResource -- as a resource for all machine quilters.
The Details
To pay for a Premier Membership, you can visit your control panel (click on MY CONTROLS at the top of any forum page), and then look for PURCHASE PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS over on the left hand side of the screen.
The following link should take you directly there, but only if you have already created a basic free account.
http://mqresource.co...=...&CODE=index
The 1 year subscription fee is $27.95.
The process is fairly self-explanatory. Payment can be made either via PayPal, or you can mail a check, and address information can be found on the payment page.
Subscriptions do NOT renew automatically, when yours expires, you will have to renew manually.

Suzanne, I'm sorry to bother you but I can't get the renewal to work for me. I went to my controls clicked on purchase paid subscription but it doesn't let me do anything or go anywhere to pay. What am I doing wrong? Thanks DeDe

With the current system, you cannot renew until after the current subscription has expired.
When we upgrade to the new system in March, the subscription system has been VASTLY improved, allowing you to renew sooner.
