If you follow my blog you know that I have been working on a hideous cross stitch project for YEARS. Long, painful years. I'm not really sure why I bothered to finish it except that I had so much time invested in it and didn't have another hand work project that I wanted to do. I kept at it and finished it Sunday. My first thought was "Who am I going to give this darned thing to?" I figured that out very quickly and it will leave my house within a week.
The second question was "What now?" What will be my next hand sewing project? I didn't have any ideas. I do have one large quilt project that is done by hand but it's too hot to pull that out right now. I sure don't want to jump into another 9-year saga so I'm researching around the web for some ideas and I thought I'd share some of them with you.
Involved Projects
There's almost no quilt more time-intensive than a hexagon quilt
A Cathedral Window quilt might sound like a good idea but I already have one of these in progress!
While I work out what I'm going to have as my next hand sewing project, I do have my ornament kits to work on. I think I will spend the next few weeks looking at more hand work projects. I'll see what I can find in beading, embroidery and applique. You can bet that my next project will certainly not be cross stitch! If you want to see the stupid cat in all of her finished glory, check out my blog tomorrow.
What hand work projects do you do? Please share them in the forum, I need an idea!
