 Good morning! I hope
you all are having a great, safe Labor Day weekend.
I know most quilters have one (or more!) full-sized irons;
but I’ve been considering purchasing another smaller, craft-size iron similar
to Clover’s Mini Iron or Hobbico’s Appliqué’
Iron. So this week’s questions are:
Do you own one of those smaller, craft-type
irons? If so, which one(s) do you own and what do you
like best about it? Please join us in the forum and share your answers with us.

 Good morning! Can you
believe that it’s already the last weekend in August!?!
As a young girl, the Labor Day weekend always signified the
end of summer and the start of a new school year for me. As I got older, I realized that it was much
more than that. Labor Day is our
nation’s tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the strength,
prosperity and well-being of our country.
It was the creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and
economic achievements of American workers.
The holiday is observed on the first Monday in September which is
September 6 this year. So…this week’s
question is:
What does Labor Day mean to you and how will you and your
family be celebrating it next weekend?

Good
morning! I’m working on hand stitching
the binding to the back of a quilt and have been thinking about alternative
edge finishes, especially on those smaller art quilts. So here's this week's question:
What non-traditional binding or edge finishing treatments have you used on your quilts? Please be sure to join us in the forum to share your answers. Take care and have a great week!

Good morning! I hope you all have been enjoying the summer. We've had a very wet and cool one so far. (Anchorage just broke a record for the most consecutive days of rain.) The Alaska State Fair opens in two weeks and is usually very well attended. So this week's questions are fair-related... Did you attend (or do you plan on attending) your state's fair? If so, what do you enjoy seeing or doing at the fair? Please be sure to join us in the forum to share your answers. Take care and have a great week!

Good morning! I was in a local quilt shop last week and noticed that there were several new magazines on their newsstand. So it got me thinking about what MQR members read and enjoy. This week's questions are... What are some your favorite quilting or quilt-related magazines? What do you like best about them? Please be sure to join us in the forum to share your answers. Take care and have a great week!
