  2. I want to thank everyone who has helped our parents over the last several days. The outpouring of support, friendship, and genuine concern has been overwhelming and so very very appreciated.We're working on getting them back to the old home place as as we can. Today was a good day - we found the cat that had been missing since the fire. Hallelujah!

  11. I got serious about my health last October when my A1C levels reached 9.5. Yes, 9.5. For those of you who do not know, that is extremely high blood glucose levels. I had a new doctor for that visit and some of the things he said resonated with me. I started keeping track of every single thing I put in my mouth via an app called MyFitnessPal. That helped me do two things - it showed exactly how many calories I was eating (a lot) and how much sugar content was included in those calories (a lot...

  16. Well, just when I thought I was getting better, I woke up with a 101.2 fever this morning. I got into see the doc this morning and I have strep throat (AGAIN) on top of the flu. That means, 2 out of the last 3 years of getting a flu shot I have had the flu anyway. Hopefully, the meds will kick in soon. I don't have time for this.

  17. went to bed at 8:30 and up at 4:30 with a 101 fever and aches. yuck. I have NO time for being sick. This was not on my list of things to do this weekend.

  18. Lots of soup and auction items going on now until 7 at the Findlay Fire Protection District. Some really cool items here this year.

  22. I just took this gorgeous Freedom Rings quilt off the frame! Love how this turned out. This quilt is up for raffle by The Woman's Club in Assumption, IL.   23. Latest customer quilt off the frame. I want to keep this one. The pattern is Carolina Lily and it turned out lovely despite issues with fullness.

  24. Day #5 of the FB Art challenge. Today, I'm sharing three of my painted quilts. All of the designs on these are painted on wholecloth using fabric paints and inks. The purple dragonfly and the bird feeding have a fabric border added. the Framed Flowers is an entire (37x47) wholecloth quilt that was white and has been painted entirely using a variety of paints and inks. These are so thrilling for me to do. I've a long way to go to perfect this technique, but these have been great fun to work o...
