Going to attempt to make a slaw with celery root. Hubby was in the store a few days ago and a lady bought EVERY piece the store had so he started talking to her about it. He was in check out near her, after she checked out, she GAVE him one to try! She makes a dip but I found a recipe like a slaw and that's what I'm gonna try. Never have eaten this veggie - have you?

Going to be a long difficult day... awake since 2AM and have to leave in 2 hours to drive to to my mothers for some Drs and errands. Gave in and having my coffee. The last visit was like this too. Hope it does not end with another major storm and no power in the city when I return like last time. Lately I've been getting a nice 6 hours of sleep too... till I have to do a road trip. Ugh.

Good grief. 6am on my day off.... But the birds are so happy!

Good response from my 13 yr old about my cake. Aww that's gross and awesome! green jello cake...

Gosh I miss Pastor Tim and his style of services. Today's service here left me so depressed.

Happy New Year! The rain continued from yesterday into the night but it sure did not stop the fireworks around my house, just stopped me from being able to sit in my own wet chairs and watch LOL. Lots of unpacking for my mother on the agenda today and maybe our first meal prepared there - she's excited!

Happy to report I climbed the stairs with full range of motion on my knee. Holding on with both hands and SLOW but I did it - woohoo! Quilted up a client quilt AND got out my UFO Desert Sky and worked on that a little last night. Ahhhh, now it feels a little more like my life again.

Have you been watching history channels Hatfields and McCoys mini-series? A few of my friends don't like it but we 4 sat watching our recorded Episode 1 last night riveted to the TV set. We will be gathered around the big TV tonight too watching Episode #2.

Have you noticed how thin and flimsy things are being made today? We've grumbled over this for a long time yet things still get made thinner and thinner. I had to order a new vacuum for downstairs cause I took mine to my moms and found myself unable to carry my upstairs one down the stairs.... Got the same brand and the one we had that I took to my mother's. It works well but oh my gosh it feels the the framework will just crack up and tear apart in no time.

High tomorrow of 103 with a heat index of 110.... and it's only JUNE.... gonna be a hot summer here. I'm not ready.

Home, my own coffee, feet up outdoors enjoying my time watching the birds and enjoying cook temps. Great getaway and a beautiful morning home.

Home....but still on edge. Storms, no power, no street lights, no traffic lights....winds picked up our patio cover and tossed into yard...

I am at a complete stop and watching tv, some house hunter show and they are in Knoxville! Drinking in the scenic views.

I baked some potatoes tonight, plain and just on the rack... Was sort of on hold waiting for hubby to come home and had re-set the timer on the oven. Shortly after, heard a loud noise. One of the potatoes EXPLODED all inside my oven! What a mess... guess I won't do that again LOL!

I can barely breath.....call back from someone that dh has had several interviews with. He said I've emailed and voice mailed....( he and mick are on the brazos river) I'm thinking its good news cause they don't bother with bad news....!!!

I don't have to rush out the door for an early appt. today Yippee! But I had planned on working on taxes, bills...and entire cable, phone, internet was down when I got home yesterday evening. They can't get out till Thursday afternoon. Thankfull I have a cell phone that I can read email from. I just don't pay bills etc from my phone. And many sites are difficult to navigate. Do you bank with your phone?

I don't know who is happier. Me because I'm in the studio or the Kitties cause I'm home and in the warm and cozy studio...

I feel like I never had s mother

I have the entire day. No appts on the schedule, not even for the evening, summer Swim and Study (2 different nights) for the boys is OVER. Leftovers for lunch and a simple dinner is planned. I have a customer quilt and 2 charity quilts waiting plus I have not touched my Bali since the last workshop - maybe a month ago? Geesh my rotary cutter was still in my travel bag the other day! But today, I MUST deal with paperwork and filing. Plus the bottom is falling out of my cherry 2 dr...

I just dropped the gallon of milk in the driveway and it exploded. All over my legs, shoes. Yuck! And no milk for the boys....

I saw my first one yesterday at the feeder. It ate and are at the feeder. Haven't seen it since.

I thought I could be content this week piecing on my Bali Wedding Star but I so want to load a quilt today. Hmmmm, wonder what I could find small to throw on? NOOOO must stay focused and work on the Bali Wedding Star. I have ADD when it comes to my projects - I seem to thrive having multiple projects out.

I'm crying too!
