Umi 2 Posted January 31 Report reply Share this comment Hi I’m praying some can help me I have APQS with IQ I keep getting obstruction. My Machine is very stiff coming towards me and when I switch off to manual of the IQ and Quilt freehand and use a stitch regulator the regulator doesn’t work the machine won’t sew if I have the machine or manual, then I can sew freehand it will sew, but machine is still very stiff

sueinscottsdale 3,333 Posted January 31 Report reply Share this comment I have an older Millie (2008) with IQ. I was having a terrible time with obstruction notices. I couldn't figure out what was going on and had a friend (an award winning APQS user) come over to see if she could determine the problem. I was also having a problem that I could not move the head easily. Turned out that a couple of my wheels on the carriage were loose so nothing was working smoothly. She tightned the wheels and adjusted them and checked how the carriage was now riding to be sure everything was running smoothly. I have not had a problem since. It had nothing to do with the IQ but everything to do with the APQS carriage. I didn't seem to be having a problem with my stitch regulator but if the carriage is not riding smoothly and easily along the rails, I assume this would affect the stitches. Just for your information, I do 99% of my quilting with the IQ and not freehand. I hope this helps.
