Lynda in the mtns of NC
I got into my unfinished projects and found an old top (like maybe 10-12 years old) that I had marked some quilting designs on with a blue water-soluble marking pen. Almost all of the marking has disappeared over the years, but not all. And the marking that's left won't come out with water. I've also tried 91% alcohol and hydrogen peroxide with no results. Anybody know what I can do to get these marks out? Lynda (no longer in the mountains of NC)
MichelleM
Maybe baking soda and water? Cold. No heat

Lynda in the mtns of NC
Your suggestions were much appreciated, but after ignoring the problem for a couple of days, I went into my sewing room today, and the marks were all gone! I had left the top spread out on a table, and it's been rainy for those couple of days, so I guess the humidity finally reached the magic level in the house to cause the marks to fade away. I'm surprised--after so many years, and most of the time the quilt was in a higher humidity environment than it is in this house, which is air-conditioned. So my problem seems to have solved itself. Wish my problems all solved themselves so effectively! Lynda
Mary in the Mountains
Lynda, I’ve read about this situation. One person said the marks would come and go. Oh no! I have several quilts marked with the blue markers so I hope they are gone for good.
