From the album: Jeanne's Quilts
This is a small (12" x 12") wall hanging that is a wholecloth batiste top, with cutaway batting and shadow trapunto. Under the sheer top is a layer of lime green fleece and then regular batting and backing. After freehand quilting, the motifs were tinted with Tsukineko inks and colored pencils. A few Swarovski crystals were added for sparkle. The instructions for the shadow trapunto are in Karen McTavish's book. Secrets of Elemental Quilting. -

This quilt was made for my niece's first baby. She picked out the color scheme. It is quilted with a simple vine in the white border, and Nichole Webb's Garden Branching free-motion quilting in the blocks.
